i.park Lake Success
In
December 1999 National RE/sources, in partnership
with Apollo Real Estate Advisors, acquired a 95-acre,
1.4 million square foot property in Lake Success,
Long Island from Lockheed Martin.
In the 1940s the property was home to Sperry Gyroscope
and later the first headquarters of the brand
new United Nations. Over the next 40 years the
Lake Success property was headquarters to Unisys
and its successor the Loral Corporation and Lockheed
Martin as a manufacturing facility for the defense
contracting industry.
National RE/sources successfully navigated a complex
array of approval and entitlement hurdles through
two municipalities to realize the site’s
potential as i.park Lake Success.
A $100 million capital improvement program created
a revitalized, modern, state-of-the-art, multi-tenant
business campus for office, back office, flex
space, laboratory and ancillary retail.
The project became home to AXA, Allstate, The
New York Times, Long Island Jewish Hospital, an
LA Fitness health club facility, and several other
credit tenants.
In April 2006 National RE/sources conveyed its
interest in the Lake Success property to Apollo.
National RE/sources references with pride its
role in developing i.park Lake Success.
